I received this book in like new condition and in a timely manner. I plan on giving it to my granddaughters to read.
Now she doesn't look at certain things as a problem.she see's them as a "challenge" that she has to figure out how to make better. What is most amazing, is that the book really teaches how to focus on the greater good of a situation.but the best secret is.just when the reader (my tween daughter) thinks she has found the tool to make positive things happen through the workings of others.she is the one that is actually changing for the better.
Some of the girls are catty and formed their own exclusive cliques (since they've been with each other since Kindegarten), my daughter was definitely the new girl in the class. My daughter started an All Girls private middle school this year.
This is definitely the book to accomplish social success. The school policies are much more strict and demanding than the school my daughter transferred from.
So I sought out a vehicle that would not only allow her to adjust in any situation, but allow her to thrive and soar in any environment. She has a brighter and positive outlook on life and any situation.
Oh did I mention we are only half way through the book.AWESOME.
I bought this book so that my 10 year old could read it to me at night. Unfortunately the book is too difficult for her to read since it uses some pretty large words frequently. However, I can't wait for my children to get older so that they can read the book as I think it will help them so much. If you have a smart teenager then this book is for you, if they are not good readers or under 13 then I would not recommend this book.
When I was growing up, I had a friend that was told by his dad that he could not leave the house until he read " How to win friends and Influence people " Well, he read the book and during the next year I seen many changes in him and he became the most popular kid in school. I have five sons and I made sure they read it and they are all doing great today.I purchased this book for my teenage grandaughter.
This book gives good advice for REAL situations that are often encountered. The advice is good in that it encourages girls to "let it go" rather than holding a grudge, explains how to keep the peace with their parents, and is chock full of good examples. The advice is geared more towards teen situations (or tweens) but is good advice to anyone.
